In a district-wide spelling bee meet of students in grades 4-8, Lamarra Smith-Gibbs held on through the five rounds to be named the district champion. Smith-Gibbs is an eighth grader at Elise Robertson Lancaster STEM Middle School in Lancaster, Texas.
